Germany

Like most of Europe viticulture dates back to the 2nd century with the Romans bringing the practice to Germany. The vine prospered beginning in the 12th century largely due to the Church and it owning so much land. German Riesling is unlike anything else in its ability to balance sugar, acid, and intense aromatics and we are lucky to be able to enjoy the wines at time when winemakers are at the top of their craft.
